TASS, September 3. Attorneys General of the US is preparing next week to announce the initiation of an investigation against Google for alleged violation of the antitrust laws. This was reported on Tuesday the newspaper The Washington Post, citing three sources.
According to them, the investigation will be initiated upon request more than half of the attorneys General of US States, and they will declare it on Monday next week.
According to the newspaper, it is not clear whether to begin the corresponding proceedings in respect of other major technology companies such as Amazon and Facebook, which the authorities of the States also has concerns in the field of Antimonopoly regulation.
In July it became known that the United States authorities are preparing to begin large-scale investigation involving three listed companies and Apple to check for possible violations of antitrust laws. According to Reuters, the powers of the investigation will be divided between the Federal trade Commission to take under the supervision of Amazon and Facebook, and the Ministry of justice, which will deal with Apple and Google. Simultaneously, on the beginning of own investigation declared Democrats in the House of representatives of the Congress of the United States.
As informed in August, the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, a group of prosecutors held a meeting in July with representatives of the Ministry of justice to discuss possible violations by major corporations after which it was accepted the decision on carrying out of Antimonopoly investigation.
