According to the company’s SensorTower, in the first half of 2018, smartphone users spent 34.4 billion dollars to purchase apps and games. Share App Store is much higher than the part of Google Play.
Cumulative sales of both app stores has increased by 27.8% compared to the first half of 2017. Then the owners of mobile gadgets spent about 26,9 billion dollars for various programs.
In just 2017 the iOS devices left in the App Store about 38.5 billion dollars, while the owners of Android-gadgets gave developers almost twice less — about 20.1 billion dollars. For the first half of 2018 sells apps through the App Store brought to 22.6 billion dollars, which is 90% more than the result of a competitor.
A significant difference can be explained by the fact that Google Play is not available in China, unlike the App Store.
However, when it comes to number of downloads, the numbers become quite different. Users install on an Android device is almost two times more apps than the iOS gadgets.
Over the past two quarters 2018 apps from the App Store was loaded with only 15 billion times. At that time, as the number of installations of apps from Google Play amounted to 36 billion. A similar pattern was observed in 2017. Then the owners of Android-gadgets, downloaded the various programmes in two and a half times more often than fans of Apple, but the sales of apps from Google Play still the developers brought in two times less money.
