Apple announced a new generation of compact desktop Mac mini with Intel 8th-generation. Last time desktops Mac mini with updated specifications the company released in the fall of 2014.
The hull shape has not changed, the Mac mini is still a box with rounded corners, but now the computer, like most other Macs, available in dark gray color (and only there). The case dimensions 19.7 cm x 19.7 cm x 3.6 cm is used as the new MacBook Air, recycled aluminum. The main changes occurred inside, and although the performance records new not put, blame Apple in the use of obsolete hardware no longer work.
The base model is equipped with a 4-Core Intel Core i3 8‑th generation with a clock frequency of 3.6 GHz, 8 GB DDR4 RAM 2666 MHz graphics Intel Graphics UHD 630 and SSD PCIe 128 GB. A more advanced model got a 6-core chip Core i5 the 8th generation with a clock frequency of 3.0 GHz (Turbo Boost to 4.1 GHz), same video card, same RAM and twice more capacious drive.
Actually the Mac mini in the initial configuration remained the computer, mainly designed for undemanding office applications, Internet surfing and media consumption. If desired, it can be equipped with memory capacity up to 64 GB SSD 2 terabyte, however, require maximum processor performance professionals, is likely to find it a novelty not powerful enough.
On ports Apple was generous: in addition to the four Thunderbolt 3 in the form factor of the USB-C there are two traditional USB 3, HDMI 2.0, an Ethernet Jack and a 3.5 mm analog audio output. The computer is running on the latest macOS — Mojave — and will be sold in Russia at a price of 68 990 rubles for the version with a Quad-core processor and 93 990 rubles for a “six-core”.
