The former chief of the military unit 74455 Chief of the General staff of the Russian Armed forces (GRU) Colonel 45-year-old Andrew Nikolenko together with his wife is accused of creating a financial pyramid, which killed 17 people. This was reported by RBC with reference to the available case papers.
According to the investigation, from 2013 to 2015, Andrey and Tatyana Nikolenko took a few million rubles (specific amount of damages is not called) friends and co-workers, promising them the money on supplies to Russia of Apple technology.
The defendants argued that Tatyana works in “Gazprom”, which deals with procurement of computer equipment. This helps her cousin from the USA working at Apple.
The investigation found that the couple used for fraud scheme reminiscent of a pyramid scheme: investors get dividends at the expense of new investors.
The couple Nikolenko don’t admit the guilt, claiming that he took the money.
Colonel at the time the criminal prosecution was dismissed from the service. By education he is an engineer-ballistics expert, candidate of technical Sciences, has programming skills in several languages, knows discrete math. He served in the Central research Institute of the strategic Missile forces and military units 74455 in Khimki.
