Mobile operator Tele2 has identified models of smartphones, which were often selected as Christmas gifts clients in the Pskov region. Honor became the overall rating of the devices. As reported AIF-Pskov representatives of the company, the youth were given preference to the latest models of Apple, and the older generation phones little-known Chinese brands.
Based on the technology of impersonal “big data” Tele2 has analyzed the popularity of smartphones on the network of the operator for the period of new year holidays 2019. In the top 10 in the Pskov region were: Honor 7, Honor 8, Honor 9 Lite, Samsung Galaxy J4, 7A Honor Pro Honor 7C, 6A Xiaomi Redmi, Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime, Honor 8C, the Samsung Galaxy J1. It is noteworthy that from 7 models of Chinese brands were among the leaders of the rating. Note that last year the top 10 was headed by Samsung and Apple, the Honor was presented only model 6A and Xiaomi model Redmi 4X.
Among the new smartphones, which are customers of Tele2 in the Pskov region, 21% owned by Huawei and Honor, the share of Samsung — 19%, Xiaomi — 8%. Apple took a share of 7%. Due to the high demand on the Russian market models of an average price segment Chinese brands are actively expanding their presence. Total phones known Chinese vendors — Xiaomi, Meizu, Lenovo, ZTE, Huawei & Honor — accounting for 36%. The residents of the Pskov region mostly choose phones in the range from 5 000 to 20 000 rubles.
In the regions of presence Tele2 in January of 2019, owners of new smartphones often have been women. Their share exceeded 50%. Most “women’s” models turned out to be the Huawei P8 Lite, Apple iPhone 8 Plus, 6S, and XS. In turn, men prefer Xiaomi Mi Max3, Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Xiaomi Pocophone F1 and Xiaomi Mi 8.
The average age of owners of new smartphones among Tele2’s customers in Russia — 39. Among the younger audience most popular model, the Apple iPhone X and more aged clients often choose little-known Chinese brands.
In 2018 among Tele2 subscribers in Pskov region increased the share of LTE-smartphones, reaching 66% of the total number of smartphones. In General, in the Northwest region this rate was 72%.
