The smart watch will be able to measure the ECG!

One of the key features of the Apple Watch Series 4 is the new sensor that allows you to do an ECG in just 30 seconds, simply putting a finger to the scroll wheel Digital Crown. However, despite the release of the Apple Watch Series 4 in September, the ECG sensor is still not working on a smart watch. As it became known today, Apple will include it in watchOS 5.1.2 — the next update of the operating system for the Apple Watch.

On Apple’s plans for adding a measurement function ECG watchOS 5.1.2 pointed out internal training document that was leaked. It notes that the new application ECG “is not intended for diagnosis and should not be used to track the status of the disease.”

It is important to note that, initially, the ability to measure ECG officially appear only to users of the Apple Watch Series 4 in the United States. In other countries the function will start to work only after Apple will get all the necessary permits from local health authorities.

However, according to a recent leak of code watchOS 5.1.2, activate ECG module for its Apple Watch Series 4 if you want users from any country. For this you will just need to change the region of smart watches to the United States.
